Mother’s Day: About Me

So when Little Miss got home from school yesterday, she proudly presented me with a purse.  Oh, it wasn’t a real purse, instead it was a project she’d been working on – a little book shaped like a purse – that she had made to give me for Mother’s Day.  Of course she was too excited to wait for me to read it on Mother’s Day, so I obliged her and read it yesterday.

After getting a little help on the translations, I giggled my way through it.  And hopefully you will, too.  I won’t go through all the pages, but there were some that were worth sharing.

My mom likes it when I do the things I’m supposed to do.

My mom likes to do fun things.

My mom always forgets nothing. (Ok, smart kid – I gotta give her kudos there.)

The thing I like the most about my mom is she’s really good, and if it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t exist.  (Apparently she’s taking a page from Mister Man.

My favorite thing to do with my mom is (WAIT she left this blank?  Does this mean she doesn’t have a favorite thing to do with me?  And she’s only 7.  Tell me the teen years aren’t starting already!)

I love when my mom makes funny noises. (Ok, so I had to ask her about this.  I make funny noises?  What funny noises?  And when?  And why does she like them?  Apparently she really meant when I blow raspberries on her tummy.  Whew!)

She is so tall like a lamp that’s in my homework room. (Now there’s a romantic image if I ever heard one.  Thanks, Kid.)

She weighs about 265 pounds.  (Really?  REALLY?  What teacher with a sick sense of humor added that to this project?  Further proof, however, that her estimation skills need a little more work.)

My mom looks best when she’s happy.  (Interesting.  I’m not quite sure where this was supposed to go, but happy is an interesting choice, don’t you think?)

Here are the things you’ll find in my mom’s purse.  And she drew…

  • lipstick (ok, that’s fair)
  • a book (yep, apparently my love of reading is visible to the wee ones and she’s noticed that I carry books with me all the time)
  • pens (because I always have one when she needs one?)
  • a receipt (ok, so I need to clean my purse)
  • and apparently a large empty cube (I’m shrugging  on that one)

Happy Mother’s Day!
