It’s already that time of year. Mister Man has been coughing at night and unable to sleep, which means that I pull out my Zarbee’s Cough Syrup to calm his cough and let him sleep. I’ve been doing my best to stay healthy, but with a schoolteacher husband and two kids in elementary school, it isn’t easy.

Fortunately, as a complement to my favorite all natural cough syrup, they released a new product designed to help me stay healthy.

I am a huge fan of Zarbee’s in general and have been for years because they offer drug free formulas that really work, and I want to minimize the drugs the wee ones (and I) ingest. And yes, they really work.

With Mister Man, I can give him a dose of the cough syrup and within two to three minutes, his throat has calmed down and he isn’t coughing up a storm. The honey is a natural throat soother, and the added zinc and vitamin C have both been proven to boost your immune system to help fight colds.

What is Zarbees’s Immune Support?

The newest product in the line is Zarbee’s Immune Support. It includes elderberry, vitamin C, and zinc, all of which help support immune health, making it less likely that I’ll end up on the couch unable to be mom – and we all know what happens then.

Like the other products in the Zarbee’s line, the gummies contain no drugs or dyes. This is both gluten free and free of animal by-products.

I wish it used a sweetener other than corn syrup, though there is no HFCS in the gummies.

I have used elderberry for years during the winter months to boost the wee ones’ immune systems, and we are among the healthiest families I know (knock on wood). I’ve been late in getting started with it this year, quite possibly because I’m simply not willing to admit that it’s almost Thanksgiving already and that the cold and flu season is most definitely upon us.

The result? Little Miss is snuffling up a storm, and her snuggling with me means that she’s putting me even more at risk.

Though I’m thrilled that she’s adept at blowing her own nose, I’m a little dismayed by the fact that she went through an entire box of tissues on Sunday alone. Fortunately, I’ve been pretty religious about taking – and enjoying – my three Zarbee’s Immune Support gummies every day and so far, so good.

Can kids take Zarbee’s Immune Support?

I like the taste of the gummies, sweet with just a hint of that tart elderberry flavor. These are designed for those 12 and up, so the wee ones haven’t been able to enjoy them with me, but Zarbee’s has created a version for kids two and up called Zarbee’s Mighty Bee that includes elderberry, vitamin C and vitamin D, so there is an option designed just for them.

Children ages 2-3 take one gummy daily, while those 4+ take two gummies per day.

Are Zarbee’s Immune Support products allergy friendly?

Founded by a pediatrician, Zarbee’s gets that products need to be clean and available to as many as possible. Zarbee’s discloses the allergens that aren’t in their products.

For the adult (12+) immune support gummies, Zarbee’s manufactures the products in a facility without milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nut, wheat, peanut, or soy.

The children’s immune product gets manufactured in a facility without milk, egg, tree nut, peanut, soy, and shellfish. Note that this list does not mention fish, which the adult product does.

They do contain corn syrup as a sweetener, so be aware if you have a corn allergy.

Zarbee’s immune support gummies are vegan, as well, as they use pectin rather than animal collagen. (The cough syrup with honey is obviously not.)

What should you take the gummies for?

The products are great for when my family is most susceptible (or maybe two weeks ago for the poor wee ones) seems to be that time.

It doesn’t meant to treat any illness, but the ingredients are clinically proven to boost your immune function, which means you’re less likely to get sick in the first place. Personally, I’d rather stay healthy all year long!

I’ve been keeping my Zarbee’s Immune Support with me in my car in my drink holder because you know that I’m always on the go, and it’s the perfect reminder for me to take my daily dose to bolster my immune system.

I know it should be easy for me to do it when I feed the wee ones breakfast, but considering that I never manage to eat breakfast when they do, my car reminder works much better for me.

And the Zarbee’s Immune Support is working. All around me, my family is coughing and sniffling – and I’ll admit that I feel a little guilty about neglecting them – but I’m still standing and functioning, and I’m giving a lot of that credit to Zarbee’s Immune Support.

Thanks for the pointer, Kristen! I’m not sure why everyone is being pointed here, but I hope my comments about Zarbee’s has at least been helpful for you 🙂

  3. Cindy says:

I was sent via a link to your FB to get a sample. I like to try before I fork over the money invade it does not work for me please let me know how to receive the sample. Thank you

    • Michelle says:

Cindy, I have no idea where the link you received originated. There is not a sampling program, and I have confirmed with both the agency I worked with and the brand that they have not sent any links or promotions out like this. I wish I had a better answer for you!

  4. Melissa Clement says:

I would love to get a sample for my grand daughter she is 5. Would you know where I would go to get that.

    • Michelle says:

Unfortunately, I really couldn’t tell you. Note that this particular product is for adults and not kids, though there is a kid version available. It isn’t that expensive to buy a bottle and see how she likes it though.
