The Mother Of All Typos

There are typos, and there are typos.  And this?  This one takes the cake.

A bit of background:  Whenever our school has parent/teacher conferences, the PTO has a committee that organizes hospitality for them. We provide lunch and dinner for them, knowing that they are back to back to back in conferences for 8 plus hours, with maybe enough of a break to grab something from the staff lounge.

In the past few years, we’ve used (not sponsored btw) because it makes things so easy – no longer do you have an email chain where oops, eight people signed up to bring brownies and now you have to go back and tell seven of them that you have enough and could they please bring in something else.  It works great.  Unless the signup form looks like this.

Volunteer asked for bowels instead of bowls

Fortunately, the mom in charge of hospitality this year is a dear friend of mine.  When I texted her this photo, she got almost as much of a kick out of it as I did.  And no, she claims this wasn’t a subconscious message.  More importantly, it’s now fixed.  And I’ve signed up to bring in those bowls.

  1. haha! Awesome! And gross. 🙂

  2. Oh my! Haha and Yuck!! I think I would skip that potluck. 😉

  3. I flinched when I read that!

  4. LMAO! That is truly funny 🙂 Thanks for the giggle!

  5. Yeah, salad and fruit would work… bwahaha!

  6. I’m sure the teachers look very forward to you bringing the bowels for them 🙂

  7. I always look for those 100+ pack bowels in my local grocery store.

I love collecting photos of funny (because of spelling errors) signs!

    • I do, too. There’s another sign near me that I *adore* that I’ve been saying for a decade now that I need to take a photo of because it cracks me up every time I see it – not because it’s a typo but because it’s a great pun advertisement. You’d appreciate that one, too.
