This morning, I went to wake up Little Miss. She was sleeping fairly late, and it was time for us to get going. As I walked into her room, I saw this:
She obviously wasn’t sleeping, but wonderful little girl that she is, she decided that staying in her bed and in her room quietly playing was a better alternative than whining or running out of her room. Actually, neither of the wee ones will get out of bed without being told it’s ok. With Mister Man, it took weeks of me telling him it was ok to come out to go potty at night before he’d do it on his own. I’ve actually been somewhat concerned that if there were ever a fire or some other emergency and I couldn’t get to their rooms, they’d never come out.
In general though, I know that I’m blessed, and I’m very grateful for this. And when I walked into her room, the whole scene entertained me.
Me: Whatcha doing, Little Miss?
Little Miss: They’re all hungry.
Me (slightly confused): Hungry?
Little Miss: Yes, they’re all eating a cheeseburger with nothing on it.
Me: Oh, so that’s the table?
Little Miss: No, Mommy. That’s the lunchcounter.
Oh. My bad. Apparently they’ve been eating out a little more than they should now that Daddy’s home for the summer. I was wondering what he was doing to occupy his days when I was working. Now I know.
And yes, Mister Man of course had to get into the action, too. I think he was half asleep though. And before you ask, yes, those are Thomas pjs that Little Miss is wearing. They used to be Mister Man’s, but she insists on wearing them now. And to be honest, I’m totally ok with handing down pjs and not having to buy more.
