How To Set Up A DIY Breakfast Bar

This post sharing my DIY breakfast bar is sponsored by FAGE; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

What to put in a breakfast bar

On weekends, I love to go all out for breakfast, making crepes or scones or cinnamon rolls and more. Sometimes, I want a simpler meal – and something that takes less time to prep.

This especially holds true when I invite friends over or my kids are in a picky mood. I make a DIY breakfast bar, and everyone loves it. Every. Time.

I get that people have different tastes and preferences. This is where a DIY breakfast bar comes in handy, as everyone gets to choose what makes them happiest. I love granola, blueberries, and cherry syrup layered with my creamy yogurt, while my husband prefers granola and honey on top of his yogurt.

Delicious yogurt parfait

Just like a taco bar or – my favorite – a mashed potato bar, you choose what you like. No one complains about an ingredient they don’t like, and everyone loves the base of the creamy, thick Greek yogurt.

My favorite DIY breakfast bar is a yogurt bar. A yogurt parfait always feel so decadent, although it has so many nutritional benefits.

The creamy yogurt combined with a little sweet fruit, some granola for crunch, and I’m in heaven. No matter what you prefer, you can find a way to add it to your DIY breakfast bar.

FAGE Total 5% plain Greek yogurt is a perfect match for the base of my yogurt bar. It has a distinctive rich, creamy taste I love, and it’s Non-GMO Project Verified.

Thankfully, FAGE Total 5% plain Greek yogurt comes in three sizes, so you have the perfect amount for however many people you plan to serve. A 7 ounce single serving size is great for just me, while the 17.6 ounce container works great for my family. The 35.3 ounce container I pull out when I entertain guests, as it’s the perfect size for a crowd.

Use a plain yogurt so you can taste any toppings you use. The FAGE Total 5% plain Greek yogurt has no added sugar, and it’s protein rich, which ensures you and your friends and family feel satisfied.

I love to put the toppings in jars, different sizes and shapes to make it fun. Place the FAGE Total 5% plain Greek yogurt in a larger bowl to set it apart.

Choose your jars to fit how much of each topping you would add to your yogurt. Granola is my favorite, so it always goes in the largest jar. I need just a little of the stronger flavored coconut, on the other hand, so that goes in a smaller jar.

Get creative and have fun with how you present your FAGE Total 5% plain Greek yogurt and toppings. Get creative with your toppings, too, and make sure you have a variety of flavors and textures.

Granola and pepitas provide a great crunch. Use your favorite packaged granola, or make your own – it’s amazingly easy. Fresh fruit like blueberries and sliced strawberries have a fantastic pop of flavor and a different texture.

I love a fruit syrup to add that extra pop of flavor and color, too. I make a super a bunch of super easy fruit syrups to work perfectly with this. My favorite is my cherry syrup, but a blueberry syrup or strawberry syrup works really well, too.

You need just a little for a ton of flavor with the FAGE Total 5% plain Greek yogurt. Another great alternative? Set out a little dish with honey to drizzle over your parfait.

Make sure to set out dishes or bowls for each of your guests. Clear glass lets your guests see the beauty of the Greek yogurt layered with the toppings they choose. My favorite is actually a stemless martini glass, as it has both the perfect shape and size.
