This past weekend, I was in Dallas for Blissdom.  I had a great time, and I’m so happy I was there.  I spent a lot of great time with some great people, and I am now almost comfortable taking my camera off manual.  Successful weekend, right?

Wait, I’m doing the Shaklee180™ program. I am one of their bloggers for the next six months, and I need to find a way to stick to this plan.  Five days in Dallas?  That wasn’t going to be easy.  I will admit that I was a little nervous knowing the food that will be there (hello, Texas – just inject that barbecue straight into my veins!) and the people and the parties and drinks and more.  That’s not what I have at home.

So I planned.  I thought a lot about what I was going to do and how I was going to stick with the Shaklee plan.  I knew right away I wasn’t going to bring a blender and make smoothies because I love too many ingredients in them, and I want to be hanging with friends, not cleaning my blender or running back to my room to make a smoothie.  Had I pretended like I was going to make smoothies, I probably wouldn’t have stuck to the plan at all.

How to stick to your Shaklee diet while traveling

But I did it.  My planning worked, and I’m proud of myself.  So you know what?  You can be on a diet and stick to it while on vacation.  And that’s a good thing since I’m headed to Denver in April, too!  I gathered up some of my tips and what I learned while traveling, and sharing them with you.

So what other tips do you have for traveling while on a diet?  And do you have an update on how you’re doing with your goals?  Link it up below!

In the interest of full disclosure, this is a sponsored post as part of the Shaklee Corporation blogger program. I have received free products, online support, and potential incentives for participating. My opinions are my own.  People following the weight-loss portion of the Shaklee 180™ Program can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.

Good for you on bringing your Shaklee food to the restaurant and making a healthy choice. So often when we’re watching what we eat, we deprive ourselves of food and socializing – 2 no no’s in my book!

    • Michelle

Thanks, Joyce. I think so often people see diet as a deprivation, and that’s where some of the hard part of it comes in. You have to enjoy yourself and what you’re doing, or it won’t work. And this works perfectly for me!

You are awesome! The fact that you were able to keep with your program while we were at Blissdom shows how great you are, and determined. I can’t wait to see more updates from you.

    • Michelle

I’m definitely determined! And I love that you think I’m awesome. I wish I could wave a magic wand and be the size and shape I want to be, but I know life doesn’t work that way, and I’m content pushing through the way I am 🙂

  • Sommer @shaklee180

I love your great tips, I know Dallas was hard but guess what you did a great job. I love the tip about giving yourself a break but not blowing it. I am with you on the breakfast which is why I love the Shaklee 180 bars!

    • Michelle

Absolutely. I’m saving up all my bars for when I travel. I head to Autism One this weekend, and that will make everything a lot easier for me when I’m in a hotel again!
