Nope, It’s Not A Spider’s Web

December 29, 2010 by Michelle

Soooo, this is my Jabra headset. The great one that I use all the time because that way I don’t accidentally hang up my phone while talking (my cheek doesn’t like my Droid or vice versa, I’m still not sure which). I love it, and it has a special place of honor all its own in my purse in a little zippered pocket to protect this not inexpensive little toy.

So what do you think? Does it look like a spider crawled into my purse and spun its web around my Jabra?

Not so much unfortunately.

Nope. As protected as my Jabra bluetooth is in its little zippered pocket, I got it out the other day, and the portion that goes over my ear had simply snapped off. It’s bendable and flexible, yet it had somehow broken off.

And I may not be tiny and delicate, but apparently my ears are. I can’t wear the bluetooth, even with the smallest earpiece setting, without something to snuggle it into place. My ears are simply too small, and it falls out. Repeatedly. Trust me, I tried everything.

Including Gorilla Glue, which doesn’t really work well on the smooth plastic parts of a Jabra Bluetooth. This is my third attempt at getting it to stay on. Let’s all cross our fingers in hopes that it stays together like it should this time. I can’t justify spending another $75 on a bluetooth right now.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

It's a little pricier than a bluetooth ear-piece, but we got our daughter a new car stereo that is bluetooth enabled. She can talk on her phone thru the stereo, totally hands-free and nothing has to be stuck in her ear.

Hmmm.. Call the company and see if they do repairs!

Tara – True, that works… except that it's possible I have this hanging up problem when I'm walking around my house on my phone. I need the headset.

Melisa – As you well know. I've hung up on you more than once! 🙂

Jen – Ummm yeah. I'll get right on that one. Nice.

Tracey – Ok, now THAT is probably a good idea. I'm adding that to my to do list for January 3!

Is it warranty-fixable? I know nothing about such things as we got our first cell phone a year ago. For anything else in newer phone technology, I'm in the dark

Ummmm…rubber band?haha I am going to drive my 2006 Honda until it dies (which could take a while, if reputation is correct), but when it does die, I'll be getting a car w bluetooth. So amazing!

I have the jabra, too, but I can't find where the little thing went!

Look how clueless I am. I didn't even know what a Jabra was.

Pat – I don't have the receipt or box or anything, so I'm not holding out hope there. Galling that a silly little CHEAP piece is the part that renders it unusable for me!

Mrs4444 – Not the right shape to hold it in place, sadly. And as Melisa well knows, I need the bluetooth inside to keep from hanging up on people when I'm doing things at home while talking on the phone 🙂

Kelly – Not clueless. Not technologically advanced either, but definitely not clueless….
