They Don’t Want Me!

I’m so bummed. I donate blood every 8 weeks, making my appointment for the next donation as I’m munching on the cookies the nice people at Heartland Blood Center so generously provide. This is my 8 week appointment, and since I usually go right after yoga, I had a 9:50am appointment. However, there was no yoga today due to a conflict on my instructor’s part, which actually worked out well….

Three Wishes

Apparently my children in Florida are finally starting to miss me, as today they deigned to talk to me for the first time since they left. Little Miss told me about her potty habits, as she’s getting quite proud of herself. My mom is being brave, really, much braver than I’d be. Packing for the wee ones at the last minute became a bit hectic, and while they took Lil…

The Extinction Theory

I’m not a big sweets person, for whatever reason. Add the fact that I was just in a wedding in Houston where I had to wear a satin dress (did I mention the dress was made of satin that shows every wrinkle and bubble and roll?), and I wouldn’t have been eating that many sweets and treats anyway. Yesterday, I spent about three and a half hours sorting and hanging…

More Whinging…

With all the running around I’ve been doing today, you’d never know that my kids were out of town. I voluntarily got up at 7:30 this morning, and I won’t be in bed before midnight. I did get a lot done today though. My day started off at Little Miss’ preschool to drop off raffle prizes to mom’s there who entered the Cinco de Mayo raffle at Mister Man’s school…

A Pocket Full of Money!

Today was Mister Man’s preschool’s silent auction and raffle. Of course, he’s currently in Florida, so he wasn’t there to enjoy the Cinco de Mayo festival, but it was pretty cool. There were two parties during the day, and because I had no children to mind, I was able to be there from 8:30 am until 6pm – set up to every last thing put away – with no distractions….

We’ve All Got Quirks

The wedding recap will come, but I want to post the pictures with it, and I’m too exhausted to do that tonight. Let’s just say that it was a good weekend. While traveling with people, you tend to learn things about them. There were many things learned amongst all of us this weekend, some of which I’ll share over the next few days. One of the first things we learned,…

And They’re Off!

Today was the day. Everyone got on their respective planes and headed out. This morning, Little Miss came flying down the hallway to greet me after Mister Man told her it was ok to wake up. Little Miss: Mommy, Mommy! Today we go to Florida.Me: That’s right, Peanut. What do we have to do before we go to Grandma’s house? Here, I’m thinking that she just woke up, her diaper…

Mom’s Night

Last night was Mom’s Night at Mister Man’s preschool. Actually the whole afternoon was Mom’s Night. Fortunately, we had lots of fun. Well, maybe not to start. Mister Man took a killer nap yesterday, and I had a really hard time waking him up. When we got to Language Stars – my one session to see him in person and where the other moms in his class also see him…

When Is Enough Too Much?

I ask this because I’m being pressured to help out with something that’s a great cause that I’m already involved in that will dissolve if I don’t do more. It’s one of those things where I’d love to help, but is doing the right thing in the big picture also the right thing for me and my family? To wit, no one has volunteered to be the PTO president for…

T Minus Four Days…

I realized that I have a heck of a lot to do in the next couple days aside from the usual working and wrangling kids. Fortunately, Google came to my rescue to alert me to all my duties prior to and the day of the wedding, as well as what I’m supposed to carry in my invisible shrinking bag on the day of the wedding. My dress did finally arrive…
