Why I Pay It Forward

June 6, 2013 by Michelle

There’s so much talk about charity and giving back, and I know we all sometimes feel that twinge of guilt that we should do more.  That’s why we roll down our windows that the stoplight to give to Misercordia or the firemen or whomever else is standing there collecting whatever they can.  It’s why we help at our schools, why we donate to our favorite causes, and why we clip Box Tops or enter codes for Feeding America.

We try to teach it to our children for their sakes, in addition to how good it feels to us when we’ve done something nice – or at least that’s my philosophy.  There are so many simple things we can do from opening a door for someone with a stroller to picking up a toy that a child dropped on the ground to cleaning up litter.  And those are the ones that cost no money that anyone can do.

This week, Rajean from B Cause I Said So asked this week’s #VlogMom question, and it’s right up my alley.  Just … excuse the cats who apparently love to be on tv.

What is the last thing you did to pay it forward?

So spill. What are your favorite ways to pay it forward, and what have you done most recently? I’m always looking for new ideas.
